Beauty Unfolds
When my daughter was going to the School of Creative Arts at the University of Saint Francis, she had to take a lighting class. Her Dad brought over his lighting equipment and we set up a studio in the kitchen. On Friday or Saturday morning we would go to the local florist shops and buy a few flowers to experiment with. Then we would spend the weekend trying different lighting techniques. This is one shot of a rose that we had bought. This was taken with the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.

Pond Reflections
The
first photo I would like to share with you is one I took with my first
DSLR, The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. This was taken at the Lakeside
Rose Gardens in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The garden features hundreds of
different varieties of roses. They also have a cement pond where
besides the pink lilies, they also had a few varieties of water plants.
It really was an established pond in that it supported varieties of
life as well. The pond was teaming with insect life and in the spring
it was also teaming with black toad tadpoles. The day I went down
there, the pink water lilies were blooming and I was laying on the
ground trying to get a good photo of the pink water lily reflecting in
the pond. Just as I was about to take a picture, this bullfrog just
popped out of nowhere! It really made the photo complete! I am sad to
say however that a few years ago the city decided to redo the cement
pond and all the life that was in it is now gone. So, I am so glad that
I was able to capture this photo before that happened.
